Gianluca Vcam RB26 engine is alive...and kicking...alot

Update On Carlo`s previous engine, which has been modified and sold to his friend Gianluca....new addition was HKS Vcam, and HKS Fcon V Pro mapped on 100ron Japanese pump gas. Internals are normal, but exhaust cam is 272/10.25 lift. This ment Sugino san had to do special shim adjustment as the head had already been processed (by the original shop back in UK perhaps)
60kgm of torque was same as before, just its now abundant earlier as is horsepower as is smiles :)

Project Carlo was power checked today, as we are going to add a HKS vcam and Fcon V Pro to his normal engine to improve low down torque. Then this engine is coming out and being sent back to Italy to a new owner....while the chassi remains here, and will have a full refresh as it was a UK car, while the exterior was perfect, the underside of the car was quite rusty, so that will be rectified during the cars stay in Japan, then Project Carlo gets the long awated engine transplant, so goes from 500hp R34 Engine to 850~900hp New N1 block semi counter engine with Vcam!!!

Anyway this is post is mainly for Carlo san, as he is the only one who still reads this blog hehehe

Here are some photo updates, first day we had alot of rain, so there was no action on the saturday (used as shakedown time) So back to Onsen (ryokan) that was about 15min drive from Sendai. Quick onsen then off to Sendai city (30min drive). Cameback, ate then went to the outside onsen (water heated by natural means) temp was around 45degrees, few of the guys from Escort and Promodet joined, few beers then of too sleep, here are the photos I took on saturday. (more tomorrow)

Yello car here was running a very serious engine, and was a consistant 9sec car

Tcraft R32 gtr is in the 8sec class, yet as far as I know have yet to run an 8sec pass...they always rev the engine hard at the start line, but always seem to bog off which put them in the high 9sec catagories, however its a very serious car, just need some more time in the seat.

Like the lip on this R32 GTR, its a 9sec class car, that is driven on the streets.

Nice to see a few of the older cars coming out to play, this 3.1ltr L series engine was turbocharged, and running in the 10sec class.

Promodet`s drag porsche. full pipe frame chassi, with 3.6ltr NA engine in the front!!! Had some issues on the day and was making uneven contact with the wheelie bars which was sending the car off slightly at launch. Should be good for high 8s, Owner / driver told me his previous car was 911 turbo that ran high 9s.

This GT-S was street / drag tuned. RB27 engine (stroked RB25)

Always had a thing for the GTI-R, and this car was running low 11s, even managed a dryhop without breaking the transmission, after I checked the video (i recorded at 600fps) I could see that the 4wd system was almost all at the front wheels, which I was surprised to see.

Bikes, I no nothing about them, I don`t even know how to change gear.....but what I do know is the below machine is very impressive, 250hp turbo...8sec street bike, not for the feint hearted, he told me he is only 65kg, so even with the low boost he is running, he doesnt have enough body weight to keep the front end down and he is loosing time, he said gaijins are better are drag bikes because they are heavier (when not using a wheelie bar) so can launch harder and run more power.

Grandslam option R32 GTR was running low 9sec passes.

Target 8sec GTR, had a new face (frp) and also running well in the 8sec class.

180sx from Garage Saurus was in 10sec class, still a far cry from Texmodify, which was one of the best cars on the day.

Garage Ito R33 GT-S later gets some air, suspension is perfect on the car, launch is perfect and very consistant.

Below car is 10,000cc V8, had the best engine on the day, and was perhaps the cleanest car there. He had nos too, and around 1100hp under his right foot. It was also the loudest car on the day.

Duke R33 GTR, had a sticker for the headlight, not sure thr reason but looked pretty cool.

Also one of the loudest cars on the day, side exit muffler and the sound of a brigeported rotary hurt my ears.

Full head shots, head is now almost finished, copper valve guides are installed, combustion chamber room is processed, head water lines are processed and head is skimmed. extra 4cc capacity was gained from the head processing. COmbustion chamber was then polished.

Brand new type super highflow HKS oil pump is going to be used, its larger than the Tomei oilpump, so we marked the bolts, took apart and inspected to make sure everything was ok. Then back in the bag and sealed up, will be on the engine very soon.

Project Carlo Begins

For the last 12months we we have been helping a customer with planning his new 2.8ltr RB26 engine 77.7mm stroke x 87mm bore setup. After many conversations what your about to see is the start of a full tune RB26 with tomei 2.8ltr engine base.

Today finally the Tomei parts arrived, we finally opend the box containing a brand new N1 block. The blocks 86mm bore means the 87mm are too large to fit, so they are sent away to be professionally fitted by our friends shop.

H-beam conrods hold everything together, and they will be working pretty hard on this setup, as the engine when finished will be making OVER 800hp.

Sorry for the long delay in Updates, few things have happened since the last one.

*Gotou san won another GTR 9sec class battle, so well done Goto san (he ran 9.3 in a day that saw temps over 35degrees.
*Endless-R new 600R ECU map is released (600hp for R35 GTR) Price coming with more information and dyno sheet.
*We are waiting on the new manifold 36mm to arrive, then we will test and sales will start.

Endless-r have developed new brakes for R32/33/34

For the last 3 months, we have been developing a brake kit for the R32/33 and r34 GTR. Brake kit was tested for 3 hours in an R32 GTR weighing 1400kg, and running a boost up engine. Front we tested the 6potx355mm disc with normal street pads (race pads are available) and on the rear we use the 4 pot 330mm discs. 8pots are available with 380mm discs, they have been test fitted and cleared 18" TE37, but other wheels, we struggled to fit.
Braking was very srtong, and we couldnt make them catch fire at all (Sugino san was driving hard as he was pitted against Houdatchi in his new circuit Silvia. Power to weight of the cars was around the same, but Sugino san eventially took Houdatchi due to the ability of our braking him (Houdatchi running normal brakes)

I used photoshop to show the disc cooling after the last lap, you can see both the cooling properties at the outside of the disc.

Prices will be available online very soon, and customers can choose their own colour for the kits (any paint colour)

The dry carbon is added to the aluminum covers after cleaning, for thoes of you who are running top mounted turbos, its advised you heat wrap your manifold + add turbo jackets...failing that at least add a heat shield :) as the carbon is tested until 150degrees. Low mount turbo guys, no problem. These parts are a special cosmetic finish to thoes who are looking to complete their engine bay.

HKS have released a new oil pump for the RB26 engines. And its so far the highest flowin crank driven oil pump made for the GT-R. At 6000rpm it flows 65ltr/min which HKS claims is a 38% improvement over N1 oilpump.

We compaired it too Tomei`s oil pump (perhaps the best oil pump on the market) and HKS`s newest effort passes that by 9ltrs/min at 6000rpm (Tomei flowing 56ltr/min)
For refference nissan N1 oil pump flows 47ltr/min @ 6000rpm.

One thing we were worried about tho, is the normal GTR oil pan is only 4ltrs of oil, where the tomei pump has proved very efficient on many high power GTRs, the HKS is sucking alot more oil out of the oil pan, question is will the oil return to the sump to match the speed thats its being withdrawn....Sugino san said people are advised to use a larger oil pan (similar to Endless-R 8ltr capacity) and also look at the head return to help with the flow.

T100-R gets watercooled housing,

Just an update, the new line-up just get better......the already powerful 1200hp+ T100-R now has the additional option of a watercooled housing.
This helps with reducing heat in the bearing housing, which also helps keep the main shaft cooler and reduces the heat thats beging transfered from the turbin to the compressor wheel.

Some days, you wake up and think you have it all worked out, what you have to do etc etc then somedays out of the blue, lady luck comes calling, and thats what happened today.......normal days work, totally trashed buy the news that a company wants us to sell their race car.....and not any racecar, an actual 2003 built F3000 Lola 660kg/500hp Mugen powered V8 track monster.

To give you some idea, way back in 1995, one was racing at Tsukuba with a lesser spec, it ran 48.072!

A few have you have asked what is happening to the car, well it was purchased by the newly opened Endless-R Norway shop, and its going to be their demo car.....

Only addition to the car will be a new engine and turbo charger system, the rest will remain the same apart from the stickers. (need to be removed by order of Nismo) for the sale to be compleated.

So say bye bye to the most successful GT300 silvia in GT300 / JTCC history, as it is one of Nismo`s few cars that will be making an new life in Norway very soon........p.s sorry to the other competitors in Norway currently running in that class, still a silver trophy is better than nothing....right? ;)

Well we was out yesterday for the Amkread battle at central circuit as it was a national holiday in Japan. Actually I am not very keen on Amkread stuff, as the mix the day with Drag + Drift in the morning, then at 1pm the circuit guys take over and drag is finished.

Just to update and say well done to Gotou san for being the fastest on the day with a 9.3sec run, but he actually came second to the blue R33 GTR from Garage Active (first accross the line) as Gotou san`s reaction time was hmmmmm to say the least.

But to date this yearm he has run at the first 3 events 9.1, 9.3, 9.3 so he is close to his dream of 8sec run (to beat Sugino san) If it will happen for him, I think Sendai will be the place, as thats where he gets a little excited (west Japan vs East Japan) in East Japan and also he won last years compertition!

Endless-R/Holset New turbo line up for 2009

Well we have been working very hard with a Holset turbocharger tuner in Europe, and together have a line up which should be both cost effective when compaired with HKS / Trust turbo options and also have the possibility to work even better, spool faster, last longer.

One thing that we were very interested in after reading about Holset turbos on various internet forums etc was the cost of these turbos and the performance they could give (and this was just the normal type)! Holset have thought about turbo charging in a very different way, and when they heard about the normal manifold size we use on larger turbos such as 42.5mm on the trust T88 and even the big 45mm manifold on the 38GK 22cm version they laughed and said this is the weakness within some of the other makers turbos. Then they preceeded to teach us that Holset is a very different turbo, engineered to a higher level and to withstand faster flowing exhaust gasses. Both HKS and Trust turbos are engineered for a certain exhaust gas speed / pressure, this is because if the exhaust gasses were to hit the turbine wheel, they would eventially sheer the turbine wheel off the centre shaft. Simply they are not engineered to cope with high flow tuned manifolds.

A simple way that was used on me (I am a thicky) use was when most of us were children, we played with the toy you can see below.

If you can imagine taking a normal drinking straw and blowing through it you would get it to spin very fast and quickly (high responce). then imagine taking the centre tube from a kitchen towl role and trying the same, you would eventially get it to spin (unless you run out of breath)....that in its self is the base premis of thought behind the Holset turbos.

Fast moving exhaust gasses give 2 key benifits, first is your engines efficency is emproved because it takes less fuel / rpm to make boost pressure and the second is faster moving exhaust gasses are in the turbine compressor for less time which leads to a cooler compressor temp and engine bay temp.

The other key features of any turbo charger, is compressor wheel.

This is where Holset exceeds.

Due to their recommended manifold thickness being thinner than conventional sizes to speed up exhaust gas flow and increase responce, the set about rethinking the design of the compressor wheel. As now in this day and age new technology allows them to do away with the unreliability of the conventional cast compressor wheel and use a fully machined billet aluminum compressor wheel as you can see below. This compressor wheel gives 2 very good benifits also, its much stronger than the cast compressor of yesterdays turbos, there is no flex or vibration in the compressor blades, which allows for better balancing and gives the bearings a much easier life when high boosting. They also allows redesign of the blades configuration to enhance the compressor map. These compressor wheels have no problem with boosting over 3.0kg/m and still being with in the 70% efficency and more!

And the last thing that some of you will like, is the sound, never has a turbo sounded so awsome, Sugino san said, the noise is the best he has heard from a large turbo, very intimidating, makes the T51-R sound like a baby! But some of our customers grow tiresome of the noise that T51-R makes, but have to live with it, however with the holset turbo, you can choose when you like to have the noise and performance, or if going on a long journey, the tiresome whistle will take its towl on your ears, simply reinset the MWE ring. This will reduce power if running alot of boost (the compressor map becomes more sedate) but the high pitched noise is also stopped. So gives you best of both worlds.....transformer turbos anyone?

So here is the line up,

My favourite has to be these babies below, they can be bolted on, and have a 2.1bar actuactor (unheard of for actuator turbos to perform like these)

Next the T70-R, these are available in normal or watercooled housings, a great 700hp Turbo, it also has a T4 flange!

T90-R is there for thoes who perhaps have the OS Giken 3.0ltr, as the Turbine Housing is quite large it makes a very effective high flow turbo, this turbo requires thin manifold to increase its responce

T95-R is recommend for the High power user, or drag SR / Evo Engines, Its 16cm Housing allows for very high responce while the larger compressor wheel gives great power. You will need to work with your tuner on sizing the manifold to make the best of this turbocharger. It will exceed ball-bearing turbochargers responce.

T100-R is our reply to HKS T62-R. WHat I was interested in is HKS first got everybodys attention with their T62-R turbo, It was on our stand 1 years ago at the Osaka Auto Messe, and said 1200ps turbo......amazing we all though, then when we had a look at the compressor wheel design and map (available from Garretts homepage) you could see the compressor cannot ever flow enough air (CFM) to supply that rated power, So we asked Holset, do they have something that can actually do the job.....well below is their reply.....

Some photos we took of a rather interesting day, when testing the R34 GTR before it heads of too Endless-R Norway. Our Driver Iiri san was very impressed with the car, although as you will see from the video we will upload, the condition were not what you would call perfect, as earlier that day an RX-7 left oil all over the track......(which got all on the tires and the car) and slowed us down this time. On the day the car was only running 1.5kg/m boost and even this proved too much for the Zeal Suspension. Iira san`s comments were the racing Zeal suspension did not have enough travel, so even with the 600hp or so on tap, when he was cournering hard the car was lifting the front wheel so lost grip in the courners. That said the day was very productive and great to finally see the car in action, hear the noise of the hard tuned engine....(video coming tomorrow). He identified the main things on the car that will help its performance, Nagisa Auto R34 managed a 1:18 at Tsukuba circuit with special SS tire and some 750hp, Very fast so we knew we had our work cut out.....but on his only second lap he managed a 1:24.....yes 6sec slower we know :) but were only using S-Tire (M compound) and down on power, we simply couldnt keep the speed in the courners due to suspension stiffness and track conditions, but as you will see tomorrow....the owner of the car who resides in Norway will have his work cut out.......and Iiri san said, change the suspension, brake pads and tire compound only and we will see a sub 1:20 with him at the wheel, I hope the changes would allow the use of more power and the time would drop further, so 150hp+ Nos could potentially give us the extra 2 sec needed....only time will tell.

As you can see, the white power was located all around the circuit, especially on the straight which was right where we were coming out of 2nd gear to try and put power down. Traction was an issue.

Also something else which is equally as interesting, is Endless-R Norway will not just be running R34 aka "baku" but also a special Nissan Silvia.....which was previously driven by an ex F1 Driver in a well know race series in Japan. Open class in Norway will never be the same again!

We went to a special factory on Saturday where we went to photo the unisia jecs silvia which is for sale. At this time the car was in pieces as the engine has to be sent back to Nismo but the chassi is available with the Hewland transmission etc. Here are some of the photos

first thing that impressed me was the rear suspension setup which can be seen here, the subframe was amazing. Also you can see the rear coolers, one for LSD, other for mission and the last for brake fluid, yes thats right they cool the brake fluid to stop the brakes going soft, first time I have seen this.

I have no idea how many points the rollcage is, but its also, this chassi is so far from the normal car. Here you can see they were starting to use alot of carbon, even for cooling in the back window

The Hewland sequential transmission was out of the car, it weighs around 30kg due to the magnesium housing

First Drag Outing in 2009 for us

Well First round of the JDDA battle got off to a good start this year, Last years champion (Endless-Rs customer Gotou san) got off to a flyer in the GTR open class.
He ran a best time of 9.30 @ 264km/h which is a very good time considering the non prepped track as you can see from the wheel spin photo, trap speed was strong aswell.
There was another car on the day which posted a faster qualifying time in the round of 9.27 but they retired after the run due to engine problems.

Here are a few photos of endless-r customers GT-S, it ran 10s on the day, but didnt qualify for the final.

Hi All, back here with a long overdue update, well we have been out with the R34 doing some final checks and testing, this time I had the camera handy, so please have a look at the photos, all of them are large apartfrom the last one :) you will see why!

Carbon prop shaft for a number of cars, uses new type of carbon, and not like the older models which are loaded in resin. This is rated to 1200hp and for supra, skyline, silvia etc etc pretty much got a model for most Japanese cars.

Guys from Norway flew over to see us and the cars, here they are with Houdatchi and Sugino san.....I have other photos to show you how we looked later in the evening!

"There she blows captain" in all her glory, the cars name is "baku" which is Japanese creature and whoes name means "eater of dreams".....something we hope will be carried to the circuit.

Hi All, well I am sorry to say I have been physically forced to have too many beers tonight (so much so that I recollect eating octopus) than I can only physically manage to upload a few photos as for you all as my room spins around my head while I sit stationary and type to you all...safe to say you know where I am at....:)

Osaka Auto Messe 2009

Well we have just got back from setting up the Osaka Auto Messe stand, and its bigger and better than last year.

We have all the turbos on the stand, from trust Holset/Endless and HKS T62R although there is only one turbo on the stand that can flow 1200hp and as kryten from Red Dwarf would say, "you bet you ass" its not HKS T62. Which despite all the early claimes by HKS it can`t actually hit the 1200ps it was claimed to do so. Heres why, the HKS T62-R turbo can flow a maximum of 1620cfm which when divided by 1.45 gives the HP figure, then multiply that by 1.0139 to give you the PS if needed, for thoes of you who cant be arsed to work that out I will do it for you :) HKS T62 turbo can only provide enough air for 1117hp/1133ps where as the new holset endless turbo will keep you drag boys happy, as it flows 1744cfm which is 1202hp/1220ps.

The R34 above is finished, so now off to the Osaka Auto Messe, (now it 1:22am, so I am shagged out but I will take many photos tomorrow and upload them throughout the day).

Nismo have relased their Fine Spec engine, its a limited production of 70 engines which every engine will be numbered. The ordering period finished the end of Feb, and production begins in March, with early orders delivered then end of March through to April.
Endless-r have purchased 2 engines from Nismo, and we will be making 2 new cars which will be available to purchase soon, so watch the blog to see what were upto. If any of you are looking for an engine, we can order them for you. Please enjoy the photos and specification.

T90-R Turbo Charger

This is a shot of the new billet forged compressor wheel for the new T90-R turbocharger.
The Billet machined compressor wheel is new in the turbo charging industry.
This + the high flow compressor housing allows for high speed spool up and high boost applications. Such as the low mount 800ps twin turbo set up for the RB26 we are workin on. with partners Holset.

Well I am glad to say, after some internet issues with the local provider and my PC having s battle with some tea, we are finally back.....and boy have we got some interesting things coming this way.....firstly were pleased to announce we are working with turbo maker Holset on a performance range, both for twin and single setups.

Turbos will be appearing at the Osaka Auto Messe.
To the left is the T90-R Prototype with the Trust T88-38GK turbo in the centre and the special T100-R on the right. (there will be several other turbo models available, including a low mount high pressure ratio (4.0) setup with highflow compressor housing and 175,000rpm balancing due to the billet compressor wheel, as an example HKS GT2530 has a PR=2.5/RPM=144,000.
All the new range features a machined billet compressor wheels as apposed to the normal forged cast wheels that are found on other turbos. This with the compressor housing allows for some very high pressure ratios and large turbo maps.

As an Example,
HKS T62R has a max PR of 4.3, where as our new turbo will achieve a PR of 5.0. This allows our
HKS T62R can flow around 1300CFM (M3/s) T100-R will flow 1660(M3/s)

HKS DRAG R32 GTR

On the 14th of March 1995 HKS racing division once again gave the keys over to their drag machine test driver 川崎哲哉さん　"Kawasaki Tetsuya San" who was to defend his crown in the RRC championship at Sendai (North Japan). The car had been increased in power from 600ps in 1994 to 800ps @ 8,500rpm and were now running a compression ratio of 9.0 with a 6 speed transmission plus a set of Garrett GT2540R turbos running 2.0kgm of boost.

8.655 was the outcome!

Today at the shop, I watched Houdatchi install another Vcam system on a customers R32 GTR.
Engine is normal 2568cc RB26DETT, but we today added HKS Vcam, HKS Fcon V Pro, HKS and upped injector cc. Responce when the vcam is switched on, is compleatly different. Without vcam in 5th @ 4,000rpm the RB26DETT feels like it struggles alot. Flip the Vcam on, and very different, like add a few extra CCs of displacement that you didnt have before :)
最近Vカムがきてます！今日はR３２へのインストールです！ノーマルRB２６エンジンですが、さすがHKS Vカム、高いだけあります。まったく違ったエンジンに豹変させます・・・

Hello all, sorry for the delay in updates on the blog....we have been very very busy with some new parts design, a new Vcam GTR, committing to the Osaka auto messe in Feb and also I have been given slightly over 1000 very old photos form Sugino san. Our prototype design manifold, this was compleated back in 1992, Turbo is an IHI but back then tuning was still in its infancy, we didnt have the hugh choice of giant turbos / wastegates we have now, this kit was for around 700hp and only need 2 tiny wastegates!

Carbon Fibre Piston

Something I found very interesting while looking through one of our books, and this is even going back a few years.....ATS made a 200g carbon fibre piston for the Honda S2000, that requires no piston rings due to the expansion properties of carbon :) Just take a look at these pics....shame its just a prototype, but looks very very sexy!

One of the main reasons this has come about, which is somewhat of a famous tax is how many Veilside body parts were copied.
Although this can be classed as "famous tax" its also something that hurts the Japanese tuning industry. With that in mind, Veilside knows Lambourghini / Ferrari owners will not put casio watch straps on a rolex, same goes for their cars and its a good way for Veilside to safe guard the future.

HKS Supra 6 speed sequential

HKS have launched a 6 speed sequential transmisison for the 1JZ and 2JZ flagship cars. Its something thats needed in Japan, (although the normal 6 speed transmission has prove very very strong in drag racing) it isnt as fast to use as an up/down sequential.
Most interesting for us is to see how well the Supra will do with this transmission on the circuit.....Endless Norway...Over to you :)

Getting the piping in!

Sugino san cleaning his freshly made intake manifold flange, the size difference is because we are still using the same 4 layer intercooler.....so sizes are alightly different when fitting to the normal intake manifold.
先日お話した、ノーマルRB26にもどしたエンドレスR32ですが、インタークーラーはいまだ４層のままなのでインテイクのパイプを太くしました。
このちょっとの差を埋める子仕事がこれです。

Twin turbo pipe is modified, to help with turbo shuffle and responce. Too slow responce on the car and the hoosier tires will provide too much grip for the horse power....so we also put adjustable cam pullies on the normal cams, to allow us to adjust the normal cam timing :)

Nismo R35 GTR race car

NISMO R35 GTR, 500ps/1100kg! equals 0.45ps/kg weight is down to full carbon chassi, almost nothing is original road car on these GT cars.

R32 DRAG CAR engine update!

At 4pm today, the "pit" was alive with activity, Sugino san had the guys refit a normal RB26 GTR engine to the drag car, for some datalogging on chassi.
Question which has never really been answered, is how fast can a normal RB26 go over the 0-400m in a well prepped chassi. Well were going to find out....time now is 6:30pm, and in 2hr 30min the new engine is in!
Spec of the new engine for data logging is,

End of HKS Hideck Engine...on with something new:)

We opened the engine to inspect possible failure of the R32 GTR,
HKS oil pump has failed.....this is the end of the R32 GTR engine, HKS nolonger make parts, so crank is finished, as is conrod.....but have spares if anyone wants :)
This is the main bearing......
This is space plate and cylinder liners, water jackets are filled with cement, for block strength.

Due to the conrod length, the piston pin is moved up, as you can see, however this creates a slight inbalance in the piston, and can cause piston wobble.

Their engine was normal, apart from turbo, cam upgrade, twinturbo pipe was modified for airflow (same thing we do here) but I have to say, the gold plating on the Sard FPR looked very good. Main thing that cought my eye!

Last race of the year, 今年最後のレースで・・・

The belt failed on the car as you may have previously read, so we changed the belt for the uprated ones, and went out again! パワステベルトが切れるという惨事に泣きつつも、

This is from the cars fitst ever outing, many people racing, some good rubber was layed down, and on a non prepped track, we got a 60ft of 1.471...then the belt broke..
男前な走りをしたのはいいのですが。。。。これは引きちぎれて交換したベルトです。

This, our first run of the day.....no other cars were racing, just 2 drag GTRs. So we have no rubber layed down and on a cold day, with track temp under 10degrees. With 1.7bar on the T88-38gk turbo, we could only manage a 1.743 60ft.....Sugino san said the Buddy club suspension we were using should not be used anymore, as just too dangerous at top speed, he then commented as he got into 3rd, and bogged down, the car tried to steer into the timing equipment which is located in the centre of the track!!! So a slight let off on the throttle, then straighten up, then back on still gave us a 9.719sec run @ 245kmh
この日は練習日だったので、エンドレスのR32をふくめ2台しか来ていませんでした！路面温度も低かったため、最初は様子見の1,7barで。
動画をupする予定ですので見ていただけるかと思うのですが、2速でかなり振られ壁に吸い込まれていきます！３速、4速・・とシフトアップしていってもハンドルが定まらない！あぶないですねー・・・・
Then when back in the pits, we made some adjustments to 4wd controller, and upped the boost to 2.0kgm. 4wd controller allowed us to post a 1.501 60ft time, which is respectable considering the conditions on the day, then buddy club suspension also caused us issues in this run, almost sending Sugino san into barrier. He said he slightly let off straightened her up, and powered through with a 9.437 @ 243kmh.....which he was happy with considering the run.
ちょっとセッティングをちょめちょめして、暴れるr３２をなだめてなんとか９，４３７までもっていきました。
さぁ次は！といういいところで・・・

The we tried 2.3bar boost, it was around 1 hour between the last run, we just couldnt keep traction, and Sugino san let off and rolled through the line with a 9.9sec time....

And then a nice sunset, and roll on 2009.....where we have some new parts, and new equipment to test :)

Today we had a delivery......Sugino san gave me the box to unrap, inside I saw the new incar camera holder :) this for you guys is not special.....but it means were taking the white R32 out this thursday for a private session at central circuit! I hope the rain holds off, so we can see what the car can do, Sugino san said, although the steering belt snapped in second gear, he said the way the car hooked up was faster then the 8sec R33 GTR we made. So the potential is there....

We were up at 5am!!!!!!! yes 5am arrived at the circuit at 7am....off loaded car, I took around 100 photos, but its 7am and we finished work now (back at endless) so its hometime but here is a few and an update on what happened, more will follow tomorrow :)

五時起床にて七時セントラルサーキット到着！100枚を超す写真を撮りましたが、一日サーキットにおり、帰宅は19時になったので、このブログのアップは家でやっております。それでもちょっとだけでも皆様に写真をアップしたいので・・・

Some things you just cant plan for, and on the first run in second gear, Sugino san snapped the steering belt.......couldnt believe my luck......I didnt even see his run as I was too busy taking a piss and not doing my job!!.....sorry all....but there is another chance we will be out last week :)
最高の発進を決めたものの、２速でパワステベルトが切れ、それでもなお、大暴れをしながらコースを一直線に突っ切って行ったそうです！！・・・・というのも、、、寒くてトイレに行っていて見ていないのでした。

This R34 was a 600ps Circuit machine, with chrome TE37s, they were the best looking TE37s I have seen.

Active came first, with a 9.580, Endless second with 9.670 and Feast 3rd with 9.740..only one other car ran a 9sec pass on the day...very very cold circuit.

Making race chassi

As many of you are compeating or looking to compete in time attack series, its a good chance for us to show you what work we undertake when making our rase chassis. we can aquire bare shells for customers, they undertake any chassi custom work needed....then ship the bare shell, of make into complete circuit car.....then container shipped anywhere in the world.
いきなりですが、サーキットでのタイムアタックなどを念頭に置いてシーズンを過ごしていらっしゃる方々もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか？
でも、どんなふうにしてシャーシが造られているのかはあまり知られてはいないのかもしれません。
そこで、ちょっぴりレーシングシャーシ造りの裏側を覗いてみませんか♪

This post will show readers what work is involved in making race chassi.....base car is 350z

350Zのベース車両がこれです。皆様にちょっぴりシャーシ製作の裏側をみていただければいいなと・・・

Stripped, acid dipped then chassi is pulled in all directions so there is no play in the welds once finished.

溶液につけて丸裸にされたシャーシに溶接を施してゆくと遊びのない、頑丈なボディが出来上がります。
Here you can see the rather large chassi hooks pulling the rear of the chassi out, as some of the 5000+ welds are started
こんな風にして、フックでリアのシャーシを外側にひっぱて、５０００箇所をこす溶接作業が始まります。

Well today, I was bored so as you do, I grabbed a set of weighing scales and grabbed the normal R32 and N1 R32 GTR headlights to see how much different they are in weight......
Answer.......300grames....see below.

N1ヘッドライトとノーマルヘッドライトの重量比べですが、結果は....ノーマルから300gの軽量です！
これを軽いととるかはあなた次第です。。。

Well, we got to our friends shop, who have a 1000ps dyno.....so quickly got the car off the trailer and on the ramps, but due to the location of the shop, we have to have the shutter down, so the noise is extreme....although the car is very very loud.
やってきました、1000ps対応ダイノチェックです。ささっと積車からEndless R32を下ろして、これから起こります騒音公害に備えてシャッターを締め切るのです（ご近所さま、本当に申し訳ありませんです）
T88-38GK turbo sound is very impressive, I hope you will like.....and it shows how different the GK series to other Trust turbos....very much like the T51R from HKS in sound, but much stronger at higher boost.

After mapping the car, Sugino san said we should power check.....
Here we had 3 people + sugino in the car, and 3 x heavy water bottle filled weights in the trunk with VHT sprayed on the rollers and 2 ratchet straps holding the car down....
Sugino san goes through the transmission in to 6th gear (as you will see in the movie) then stepped hard on the gas pedel......sounds like things are going well then rpm shoots up too fast, I know what has happened which is also confirmed by sugino san laughing in the car.....wheel slip.....we just couldnt keep the tires from spinning....
マッピングを終えて、次はパワーチェックに移ります。
車をしっかりと設置させるために、VHTをローラーにまいて、丈夫なハーネスをくくりつけて、トランクに水入りの重たいボトルを乗せます。
6速まで順々にギアをあげてゆきアクセルを目いっぱい踏み込みます・・・・が、ホイールがスリップしております。
Sugino san got out of the car and said the rpm shot up and km/h read over 270....but the dyno read only 220kmh....seems we had wheel spin from 200kmh in 6th.....and we still posted a power reading of 820hp.....so the car at only 2.0kgm is making somewhere around the 1000ps (estimated) so things should be very exciting on the 30th....last drag race session of the year.
メーターでは270kmを超えているんですが、ダイノチェックでは220kmで計上されていました。6速の200kmくらいでホイールがスリップしているようです。。。
それでも820hpの数字がダイノから出てきましたので良しとしましょう！
雨でつぶれていたセッティングはなんとかできたので、11月30日今年最後のセントラルドラッグレースに向けて、期待は高まるばかりです♪

Well yesterday we had a day booked at central circuit for the R32 demo car to be mapped, this ws our last chance before this years final race at central later on in the month. 30th....and you guessed it...............it rained all day! Sugino san then put the chances of racing on the 30th as almost 0% as we could not map the car........I was very upset....however today I went out to get his lunch, and when I returned I could hear the rumble of the gtr!!!! I thought they were just moving it, but when I checked, Sugino san was inside, so I went over and told him his "me-shi"was here, and said joking aside..."you getting some practice in" he said nope we going setting....he booked our friends 1000ps dyno, so thats where were going....with camera in a second! video will be uploaded today!

前日と本日は晴天なり！！
実は、前回も雨に降られております・・・これは、もう完全に呪われておりますようです。
これでは、30日の今シーズンラストを飾るセントラルサーキットでのレースにも、一度も全開走行することなく臨まざるをえないのです！！
それでも、さすがにマッピングなしでは前回走行などできたものではないので、お友達ショップ、ディバージョンさまにて１０００ｈｐまで計測可能なダイノに行ってまいります！！

Endless-R R35 brake kit upgrade for R32/33/34.

Our new billet aluminum kit allows users to fit R35GTR 6 pot mono block calipers with 380mm rotors to R32 / R33 / R34. We have fitted these these to 18" rays TE37 wheels, but wheels do vairy, so we cannot guarantee fitting on all 18" wheels as simply we havent been able to check all wheels. Please see our 600ps street car here "rain" to see fitment of the brakes.

Today 00:01 I was awoken by my fiance screaming at me "whats happing to your face" I was alarmed and bolted up right and reached out and could feel some strange goings on....especially around my eyes.......it was like someone or something had scoured lines around my eyes, then I remembered.....somehow.......by no means of my own.......I had turned 30.........I am sure I am not the only one who this has happened too, but it felt like it.

Actually I shouldnt scare all you 29 years olds or younger.....(I am not the boogie man) but as I crossed over to the other side, I can say nothing changed and the above was just bullshit.....I mean, I didnt even go to sleep, I was too excited to see if anyone bought me any crap :)

So what did happen I hear you ask?
well.....my fiancee gave me a special and heavy box, and said "tan-joe-be o-mu-dee-to" which means (and I spelt phonetically, pheneticlaay??? or however you spell that word) "happy birthday" as a rough translation.....she then followed with "ku-so-ge-ge" which is like "old bastard" :) I laughed and continued to open my gift.....

The box:
The watch is designed by Yoshioka Tokujin　吉岡徳仁、and the minutes are the small hand which is somehting quite unique.

It also never needs a battery.....just a few turns in the day of the dial if I am not wearing it, or just leave it on and hopefully should last forever....or at least until I hit 40s (another story)

Just simple design this side, but I love the mechanical workings inside. Thankyou for my gift xxx I want to turn 30 every day :)

Mapping Rains car...

Well, Today we had a nice dry day, so we put the plates on Rains car, and took it out for "live" mapping. Houdachi driving, Isono san mapping and me sat in the back filming (video coming)

本日快晴につき、謎の富豪ライアンさんのエンジンにプレートを打ちつけ、セッティングに行ってきました。

First impression is.....OMG

トルクスゴイ！

Differences and problems with originality:
The full counter engine with race head doesnt sound like any other RB I have heard. The engine has almost an N/A tune to it, not too disimilar to the sound of the straight six BMW had in their flagships saloons....but then the turbos kick in and your reminded (and quite quickly I might add) that there is 2 industrial hairdryers blowing alot of air into the engine :)....bloody hell the car is fast and thats with 3 people.......and It gets better....and worse :( .....lets do the worst first....
We mapped the car on different boost levels, 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5kgm
Every boost setting up until 1.4kgm was fine....then when we tried we couldnt believe it, a little clutch slip, which we were shocked as Nismo quote 670ps and 84kgfm of torque, perhaps the clutch is over rated?
So....
Isono san wanted to get the data at 1.5bar (the movie will be uploaded tomorrow) but the clutch slipped alot.
Other parts that may not help the nismo clutch is the R34 GTR transmisson coupled with the R32 final drive ration of 4.1 makes for a very responsive car, and very aggressive torque delivery from low down RPM,
The good news was, I couldnt believe this is only a 2770cc engine......even at the boost setting of 1.3bar, the car pulled like a train,
RAIN san also has the privilege of owning the very rare R34 GTR Z-Tune......which we set as a bench mark and today I feel we beat it. We got the data for 1.5bar boost, and the car will go for final setting on the rollers at other endless shop.

ブースト1，4kgくらいまでは非常に快調に飛んでいくんですが、1,5kgになると滑りましたよー、nismoのカッパーミックス！
お客様たっての希望で（反対を押し切られｗ）取り付けたものの・・・やっぱりこのくらいの車になると、トリプルくらいあったほうが良いです。
それでも2，7lエンジンとは思えないほどぐいぐい引っ張ります。完成が楽しみな一台です！

QUESTION: Why is this so different from the others cars we have made?

ANSWER: Rain wanted everything that is found one of our wild race cars.....then asked us to tame/muzzled it and put in his daily driver, its not something thats done very often and I feel we pulled it off well......but it still has bite, which the Nismo twin clutch found out ;) here is the spec of the beast...or be it tamed beast.

Saurus customer car is runing the new HKS T62 Turbo

Saurus R32 GTR with T62 turbo, Vcam and seem welded chassi, sadly it broke on the day.

Escort who have a shop in under 60 meters from entrance of central, and have a twin turbo ferrari in their shop.

"ansin jidousha" means safety car.....Escort had trouble all weekend but managed an 8.2 sec run to win the open class

Inside Escort R32 GT-S pro drag car, the owner of the car

has spent Yen: 30,000,000 getting this car into the low 8sec barrier, but its chassi will allow it to go to 7.5sec. This quite normal looking lancer, was running in the 11sec class, he has a full 2.3ltr engine and HKS Vcam with large turbo.

This Aristo was also made for pro drag, but he had problems in the outlaw class all day, best time was mid 11s.

Trust T88-38gk was under the bonnet

Screen has run in the 9sec class before, and with pro driver achieved many 9.5sec runs (good for an SR20 engine) But sadly their modifications that were made didnt allow them to compete in the out law class (sub 9sec class)......but will be a car to watch next year.

this soarer was wearing a very tough drag body kit, but afer talks wih the driver, its actually a rather normal engined car bar the big single turbo, aero and slicks, he ran in the 11sec class.
